West Memphis-Arkansas native, Tamara Johnson was born with styling in her blood. Recognizing her “God Given” gift for hair styling at the young age of (14) Johnson began styling anyone's hair that would let her. Although she became the “Talk” of the town, she did not immediately look toward a career in hair. Instead, she went to college graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing Management from the University of Memphis. This lead to the vision of a career in Fashion. Not totally satisfied with fashion styling, Johnson decided it was now time to return to her “First Love” hair. She quickly enrolled and started attending Cosmetology School to obtain her license as well as get certified. Johnson quickly built a reputation as a “Master Hair Stylist.” She is the “Perfect” example of what hard work, experience, education and passion will allow you to accomplish when you “Set Goals” and execute them through your vision. She has been in the “Hair Industry” over 25years, spending the last decade bringing zeal to individuals from the “Instructors Seat” in addition to “Entertainment Seat” for major “Celebrities, Videos, Films, Editorials, Fashion Shows, student and the like.” “Beauty and fashion are dynamic, so I invest significant time and energy in keeping ‘Up to Date’ with the latest trends and techniques,” says Johnson. Having excelled in the hair industry, Tamara Johnson is passionly know as TamaraJ. She has expanded her brand (The TamaraJ) even further and now owns an online boutique (Pearls for the Girls and More), she also have a MENTOR ME by TamaraJ platform where she mentors young girls between the ages of 13-19. She is also a home interior decorator and currently studying to pass her Real Estate License Exam. Her future plans are to conquer the world.
